THE TACO DUO

For years, we both wanted something of our own. Golden is a town filled with epic adventure & after being here for so long, we grew an appetite to bring something more. That’s when the light bulb came on – TACOS!

We had never moved onto anything so fast! We merged our lifetime of culinary experience into a place we could share with our friends & family.

Our approach has always been to bring a fresh, unique & exciting atmosphere to the family of restaurants we have here in Golden. We both have loved living by the ocean & are inspired by the lifestyle that comes along with it. The goal is to create a community vibe & to promote healthy eating & sustainability.

Lets Taco ‘bout Food

The Reposados way is to use only the freshest produce to create simple, healthy & delicious fusions inspired by the flavours of Mexico. Using authentic spices, the colours are bright & the aromas are vibrant. We pride ourselves by the fact that everything is handmade fresh everyday, from grilling juicy street style meats to making our own corn tortillas from scratch.

DAY OF THE DEAD & THE SUGAR SKULL

Every year on November 1st and 2nd, Mexico honours the departed. These two days are a celebration; a time devoted entirely to the loved ones who have left this world. Food is a central part in this celebration (of course!) but Mexicans also prepare for these two days by decorating burial sites with altars. On these alters, they present the skull that you’re seeing above (and that you’ll see all around this restaurant).

Known as Sugar Skulls, these bright and colourful pieces of art are in contrast to the darkness that typically surrounds death. They are a commemoration of the lives that lived and it is believed that the departed return home to enjoy the offering.

It’s a symbol of all that we have, and to what matters to us most – love.
